Ok folks.

There will be a intro evening on the monday 25th of Feb at the outpost. Hopefully there will be myself, mini rob (gawshank) and Ben....handle escapes me.

Hopefully some new bloods can make it down. It'll be good to see you all there.

You've piqued my interest. Think I should be around.

On a side note, I'm thinking I might get a few nomads because they look pretty cool. What size force would you suggest for a beginner? 100? 150? I've picked out the models I like, but obviously the wallet will only stretch so far.

I'm going to be ordering some Malifaux in the next week or two (from elsewhere as the Outpost doesn't stock it at present), but I'm just wondering if anyone knows if/when Infinity might be coming to the outpost? Obviously if Infinity arrives in the next month(ish) then I'll hold my horses, but if it's longer I may not be able to wait (a nasty case of gamers wallet-twitch) and I'll get some with my Malifaux order.

Cheers

hi dude

150 is a good starting point army plus you can proxy what you haven't got for moment no one will mind
the starter sets are about 150 points each

Alright lads (or lasses),

Beard...that was me. We still on for Wedensday? PM me.

Sssk:
Nomads are a cracking faction!

Starter boxes are the way to go to kick off I think. Good choice of team members (refuse to call them units) in them there are different classes and avalibility levels for trooper 'types' / classes.
They range as Gawshank said from 125-150 ish. and should set you back no more than £30 quid. I'd get a starter box as it's a good balance and allows you to experience the rules in a flow rather than trying to specialise all too quickly as well....learn't my lesson with my Caledonians...the hard way!

Keep your eyes on here as I'm posting a beginners thoughts since i've only started playing this last year or so; Sort of thing before the beginning of this next week.

Yeah, I think I might get the bakunin box and maybe either a prowler/combi rifle zero/Reverend Custodier, just because they look cool.

Not totally sold on the models of the zero or sin eater in the bakunin box (or reverend moira for that matter), but we'll see what happens when my wallet and the internet meet (usually a black hole where money disappears).

Cheers

Hello,

I am new to the store and new to these forums, and i am not local. Saying that though i was speaking to a member of staff at The Outpost and he gave me mention of these forums. I have been told time and time again that infinity is the best system out there and the only draw back is how complicated the rules are.

I am very interested in coming down to the intro just to learn the game, as i am interested in collecting Aleph as i like chicks and big guns!

Would i be able to get an intro on this day from someone, also could someone advise what i should get if i am starting off as i really want to be a part of this.

My current games i play are Warmahordes, Warhammer fantasy, Bloodbowl and Malifaux (although i have gone off malifaux due to bent crews).

My name is Sunny, and i can drive down if im welcomed to the event and will be with a friend who is also wanting to learn who want the Aleph Phalanx starter and i want the other Aleph starter.

Thanks guys and girls for your time reading this :)

Happy New Year all!

Sunny

Hi there Sunny,

Where out of intrest would you guys (or girls) be comming from?

Anyway nice too see people intrested as always, You are more than welcome for sure as is your mate I'm trying to build a community for the game and more people intrested the more chance we can get some solid events / gaming sessions going on!

The rules look complicated but are easily learnt once you've grasped the basic mechanics..takes 2/3 games do get them solid. Have a good look at the Quick Start Rules on line at (www.infinitythegame.com) very colourful and really well thought through explaining the basic mechanics and some of the basic actions troops can do in there.

We have two players knocking about with both the Greek Sectorial (Steel phalanax) and the regular joe ALEPH best off chatting to those boys so I'll try and make sure one or both are knocking about that evening.

Starting wise (I'm about to throw up a big thread on this so keep eyes on this part of the forums):
But I'd say a tape measure, four D20 dice, the downloaded quickstart rules and a starter box of choice is the best way to go. All the starter boxes come in at about £30 ish quid at the most. And weigh in at 125-150 points which is roughly half point for a tournement sized army (Normally 300 points for tournement which is approx 8-10 models).

If you want to do ALEPH but don't want to invest heavily at this stage I suggest The standard ALEPH box and the Marut TAG makes a nice tidy and impressive 300 point force.

If your finding other systems with 'bent' combos this might be the game for you as everything has pretty much got a fighting chance.

Hope this has helped,

Dickie
8-)

ps. Happy new year!
