TARGET SIGHTED!
40K TOURNAMENT @ THE OUTPOST 24th FEBRUARY 2013

This is a 1500 point, 3 round tournament.

Tickets are £15 each or £12 for Platinum Members of The Outpost.

Armies must be comprised from army lists from current codexes and/or White Dwarf where appropriate (e.g. Sisters of battle). Forge World is allowed.

Lists are to be submitted no later that the 17th February, please note which tournament the list is for and send it to survivors@the-outpost.co.uk. Lists should be typed in a logical format with full names, point costs and breakdown of points where relevant.

Participants must bring the following:
*A copy of the rulebook
*A copy of their codex
*Dice, tape measure and templates
*Any fortifications bought for your army list as per pages 114-117

Allies are allowed as per pages 112-113 of the rulebook.

Models do not have to be painted although it is encouraged. Models do not have to be GW standard models but they do have to easily recognised as what they represent. If you have a query about a model bring it into the store and a staff member will judge if it is suitable.

Schedule
9:00am registration and sorting out questions that occur
9:45am Game 1
12:00pm Lunch and best painted army voting
12:45pm Game 2
3:00pm End of Game 2
3:15pm Start of Game 3
5:30pm End of Game 3
5:45pm Awards

Best Painted
During the Lunch break all gamers will be asked to vote for the army they believe is the best painted. The army with the most votes wins.

Blood Points
A unit is worth a number of blood points equal to its cost in points. You score these points for enemy units/vehicles destroyed, fled off the board or fleeing at the end of the game. Keep a note of Blood Points earned and the end of each game as these will help with rankings.

Scoring
Games will be scored in the following manner.
Win = 10 points
Draw = 5 points
Loss = 0 points
In the event of a point tie on the leader board, the number of victory points earned will be to determine the winner (so make a note of them on your sheet). If still tied after this then blood points will be used. Blood points will also be used to determine the Bloodiest General.

Awards
1st place £30 store credit
2nd place £20 store credit
3rd place £10 store credit
Best painted £10 store credit
Bloodiest General £10 store credit

GAME 1

Strategic Decimation (see below)

Dawn of War set up (page 119). This game will last a maximum of 6 turns.

In this scenario the objective is to maim, kill and destroy your opponents entire force. Kill points will be scored normally with the following addition:
For each force organisation choice you destroy you earn 1 additional kill point provided that you haven't already killed from that choice.
For example: Joe kills 1 unit of tactical marines (troops) and 1 unit of assault marines (fast attack) earning an additional 2 kill points. His opponent kills 1 ork boyz mob (troops) and 1 unit of gretchin (troops) because they were both troops he only earns an additional 1 kill point. There are a total of 5 additional kill points available in this scenario (HQ, Elites, Troops, Fast Attack, Heavy Support).

Scoring
0-2 difference = Draw
3+ = Victory

GAME 2

Escort

Set up no further than 12" from your own long table edge or closer than 12" to any short table edge. Roll off to see who sets up first, the player to set up first will go first unless the initiative is seized. Game length is random as per the 40K rulebook. Kill points are scored as normal.

Each player nominates a single model from their own army to be their 'escort' - this model must be an independent character or squad leader (or equivalent). It may not be a vehicle or monstrous creature (Tyranid players may nominate any single model which is not a monstrous creature). The escort model cannot leave the table at any time (except to score 2 VPs) and must be deployed during normal deployment, it may not infiltrate. In addition escort models cannot deep strike, enter or use transports or run. This model is worth 1 additional kill point if killed / destroyed / flees off the table. If part of a unit then the unit must follow the same restrictions.

Anybody successfully moving their escort of their opponents table edge will score 2 extra VPs.

Players must inform their opponent of who their 'escort' is before deployment.

GAME 3

Hold the Centre

The scenario uses the Vanguard Strike set up (page 119). The game will last a maximum of 7 turns.

Place 3 objectives across the centre line 16" apart from each other and short table edges. These objectives are random objectives. Objectives cannot be moved or damaged.

If any player hold all three objectives at any point after the second players second turn they will score 3 additional kill points and automatically win. On the first players 4th turn one of the objectives will disappear, roll a D3 to determine which objective disappears. If both objectives are held by a single player the game will automatically end and the winner will earn an additional 2 kill points. At the end of the game any objectives held will be worth 1 kill point each.

Hi, could you add me to this list please? Looking forward to being able to come down and play, had no idea I had a venue like this so close to where I live!

A few quick questions though:
- How much does this cost? (couldn't find it on here, apologies if it is!)
- Will we be able to use the new Dark Angels codex?
- Are special characters allowed?

Anything else I could do with knowing? If there's still room this would be my first event with you guys, so any tips would be helpful!

Thanks!

Tickets are £15 and include lunch. They're £12 as a Platinum Member. You will all count as platinum members on the day meaning a whopping 20% discount, not bad ey :)

Yes you can, infact you will have to use it as the 'current' one will be replaced by it in a few days!

Dominic wrote:

As long as you fulfil any requirements i.e army size or composition then yes of course. It's worth mentioning that Forge World is also allowed.

I've put your name down however I do need your full name as 'Domonic' might now cut it. PM me your name and contact number and i'll sort it out for you :)

Short of that we tend to suggest shorts / long shorts and a tshirt as it can get quite warm on the gaming floor.
